Guild Meeting, Rowany Festival 2025

A Fibre Guild meeting was held at Rowany Festival, hosted by Fru Ragnhildr. There was an absolute feast for the eyes from this meeting, and I wish so much that I could have been there to see all the wonderful things our members have made! In no particular order, we have the following images from the show and tell:

A handwoven pillbox hat, by Elrod of Rowany.

Woven in broken diamond twill using Bendigo Classic 2 ply.

A handwoven Skjoldehamn hood by Ruffin from Rowany.

Woven on 8 shafts in herringbone twill using Bendigo Classic 2 ply.

An assortment of nalbind items, plus a knitted and fulled flat cap (far left), by THL Jenneur.

The striped hat (foreground) is a Gotland hat.

The white hat (centre) is in wool, Saint Simeon (11th century).

The blue hat (left) is Gotland, nalbind (2+2 F2). The wool is hand dyed with woad, too.

The mitts (top) are Finnish 2+2F2 with striped wrists 2+2F1 as per extant finds.

A warp-faced belt in progress on an inkle loom, by Gabrielle.

Several sprang items by Lady Igulfridr, including sampler bags in cotton (rainbow and white), plus a hairnet in 2 ply wool which features a band woven on the rigid heddle.

The wool hairnet was also hand dyed with Eucalyptus.
